Bail Process with AVS
As an AVS-approved establishment (Animal License No. FC245155642), Nekoland adheres to a rigorous and comprehensive process to ensure the responsible adoption of our cats.
Our Cat Rehoming Procedure
-
1. AVS Alerts Nekoland About Cats Needing Rehoming
The Animal Veterinary Service (AVS) notifies us when there are cats in need of rehoming. These cats may come from various situations and require a new, loving environment.
-
2. Selection of Cats for Bail Out
Nekoland carefully selects cats for rehoming based on their needs, temperament, and the suitability of our environment to ensure they will thrive in their new home.
-
3. Initial Health Screening
Once selected, each cat undergoes an initial health screening to assess their overall condition and identify any immediate medical needs.
-
4. Bailed and Sent for Vet Checks
After the initial screening, the bailed cats are sent to a veterinarian for thorough health checks to ensure they comply with AVS regulations and have a clean bill of health before moving forward.
-
5. Temporary Sheltering for Recuperation and Monitoring
The cats are then temporarily sheltered in a quiet space where they can rest and recover from any stress. During this period, they are closely monitored, and isolation protocols are maintained to prevent the spread of any potential illnesses.
-
6. Test Results and Submission of Request to Stay at Nekoland
Once all health tests are completed and results are clear, we submit a formal request to AVS for the cats to remain at Nekoland, ensuring they meet all necessary requirements.
-
7. Meeting Requirements
To be eligible to stay at Nekoland, the cats must meet specific requirements, such as being free from contagious diseases, having up-to-date vaccinations, and being compatible with our existing feline residents.
-
8. Post-Move: Isolation and Socialisation
After moving to Nekoland, the cats continue their isolation period to adjust to their new environment. Once cleared, they begin the gradual process of socialization, getting used to the presence of other cats and humans in a controlled and comfortable setting.
Finally, Ready to Meet New Friends!
Only when our kitties have fully adjusted to their new home and are comfortable in their surroundings will they be introduced our Cat Interaction Zones. This allows us to ensure they are completely ready and settled before they get to mingle with other cats and human visitors.
